There may have been an earlier suspension bridge at this location up until 1870-1871 when it was destroyed in the Franco-Prussian war.
A Gisclard suspension bridge completed in 1917 or 1918, probably as a replacement for a bridge destroyed during WWI.
A concrete suspension bridge completed in the 1920s as a replacement for the Gisclard bridge.
