Casey writes: "I grew up about 5 miles from the Regency Bridge in the Community of Spring Creek in San Saba County. I was always fascinated with it as a child and still visit it regularly with my family... It truly was the 'swinging bridge' as we always called it with the old floor, made of 2x8 or 2x10 lumber sitting on its edge. It would roll like crazy when you drove up and make a quick stop on it. The new floor is much more rigid with its laminated pressured treated beams. My grandmother was born in 1912 and remembered when it was built. You will see some old concrete pilings in the riverbed in one picture. These were from the old bridge that collapsed when the Jernigan family was driving cattle across it. My grandmother remembered that event as well, as they were friends of the family."
