The historical images are photographs of images hanging on the walls of the San Juan Inn (in Mexican Hat). Some are clearly marked as having been taken by John Hunt.

Eric writes: "The suspension bridge was located in Mexican Hat, a small town in Utah not far from the Arizona border. I knew of the arch bridge but was surprised to see old photos in the San Juan Inn restaurant on the walls of a single lane suspension span some 15 feet lower than the current arch bridge. No one seemed to know when it was built or how many years the two spans stood side by side before the old bridge was finally removed. The arch bridge is officially credited as having been built in 1953 according to the NBI database."
