Dave writes: "The main cables are 2 inches in diameter. The suspension bars are 3/4 inch in diameter. The bridge appears a little unusual to others I have seen in Scotland. On the others the lower ends of the suspension bars have been mounted to the bridge at or below deck level. On this bridge they are affixed to the hand rail. The deck then hangs from the handrails like a long open ended/topped lattice sided box."

"The suspended span is free to move. The angle iron plate on the tower stops it from going up too much. The is another piece of angle iron at the bottom. There are also plates to stop the deck from swinging too far longitudinally. At approximately 60 degrees Fahrenheit it could move about 3 inches."
