Patrick writes: "This bridge failed with three people on it approximately three weeks before my visit [in 2007]. A main cable snapped near the road side anchorage. Road salt spread over the many past winters was the suspected culprit. Several of the images show the new anchorage and fittings and how very close to the roadway it is." Patrick notes this bridge was the "Second of 25 stops made along the Troublesome Creek. 11 in Breathitt County, Kentucky with the remaining 14 in Perry County, Kentucky."
The bridge was later destroyed by a flood in 2022.
