Completed in 1864 as part of an aqueduct system for Washington D.C. Cabin John remains the longest stone arch in North America. It currently carries both the aqueduct and one lane of MacArthur Boulevard. My apologies to my fellow SIA (Society For Industrial Archaeology) members the backs of whose heads have been captured in the first photo.
