Patrick writes: "My second visit to the new bridge under construction - just 10 months after the first. The ship containing the first 16 deck sections had been in the area for 6 weeks prior to my arrival. They started lifting deck sections the first week after my return home - two weeks after these shots. Originally the hanging of the deck sections were to commence in April, but wire issues for the main cable pushed it back to early June. The ship arrived in early June, but several issues made it that it would be two months until the first deck section is lifted. First issue was the ship couldn't fit under the existing Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Another issue was the winches on the ship were sabotaged by somebody throwing 'handfuls of nuts and bolt' into the mechanisms."
"I've been to Seattle four times previously. This fifth time was the first where I could see Mt Rainier."
"For the ladies. This guy was just pacing back and forth like a caged bear. Probably was getting tired of waiting for weeks. He's barely visible in the two previous photos."
"Somebody was already doing donuts up on the new deck sections prior to hanging them! These same pictures show that this deck section is to be lifted exactly at mid-span. The fixtures on each side of the deck are where the deck will be connected to the main cable. They're unique and not visible on any of the other sections."
"Gradual zoom in of workers up on the catwalk."
