Suspension Bridges Crossing Silver Stream

This is a list of the only bridge from the suspension bridge inventory crossing Silver Stream. Please note that different rivers with the same name will be grouped together. For example, selecting 'Bear Creek' shows bridges across several different Bear Creeks. Also, similarly named rivers are grouped separately. Notes:

  • Damaged by flood, 2017, but remained open.
  • Believed to have been built in the 1950s.
  • May-June 2020: Declared unsafe and closed. Dunedin City Council announced plans to remove the bridge as "unsafe" causing complaints by local residents upset about the possible removal.
